Michael and I spent the 5 days between the end of our contract in Provo and when our things would arrive to see some of the country during our move to Indiana. We had so much fun, and I didn't even get sick of driving until the last day.
We traveled all day Sunday through Wyoming, so needless to say I didn't see anything or take any pictures. Monday we set off through the black hills South Dakota, and stopped at the four mile ghost town to stretch our legs.

We then went to Mount Rushmore, but only saw Crazy Horse from a distance.
Following Mt. Rushmore . . . WALL DRUG
We took our time at Wall running through the
water fountains, drinking our free water,
riding the jackalope, and doing all things touristy.

We also passed through Minnesota where we stopped to see the Jolly Green Giant before finally arriving at our hotel in Iowa at 1:30 in the morning. We almost ran out of gas and thought we would have to spend the night on the side of the freeway in the miles and miles of cornfields that make up Iowa. Thankfully the Lord answers prayers and we miraculously found a gas station at 12:45 am.

Tuesday morning fulfilled a few dreams for Mike as we stopped at the Field of Dreams movie sight. Below you can find Mike disappearing into the corn fields, and wishing he had a baseball in the car to throw on the field.

Tuesday evening brought us to Nauvoo where we were able to attend the temple and visit the beautiful city. We spent Wednesday morning at Carthage and Wednesday night in Bloomington, IL (not to be confused with Bloomington, IN where we now live).

At the blacksmith shop, Mike got to "propose" to me again with a diamond ring made specially for the occasion. This was to the great delight of the young women group who was in the shop with us. As a result I received a miniature horseshoe and we got to have a special visit with the missionary serving as the blacksmith.

Thursday, we made it to Bloomington Indiana! It is so beautiful here, just rolling forests. On Sunday we walked around campus and took the following pictures. I am so excited for the challenge and the joy that law school will be for Mike, and the opportunity I have to be here with him!
